About LASCT

The Los Angeles Society for Coatings Technology (LASCT) is a voluntary, nonprofit trade association. Established May 4, 1924, it is the preeminent organization in the Southern California area representing more than 100 paint and coatings manufacturers, raw materials suppliers, distributors, educators and students.

An important LASCT objective is to provide technical education and professional development to its members and to the Southern California coatings industry through its monthly technical presentations, technical documents, job assistance and scholarships.

Biography: Dr. Patrick Lutz is an Inorganic/Physical Chemist with a BA and a PhD from Syracuse University. He held many Technical Service, Market Research and Sales positions with DuPont Pigments and Chemical Groups over a 25-year span. In 1993, he joined Dunn-Edwards as the Slurry Project Manager and became the Director of Labs in 1996. In those positions, he interfaced extensively with regulatory agencies dealing with VOC discussions, etc. In 2002, Pat joined EPS/CCA as the west coast Technical Sales Rep focusing on architectural resins and colorants.
